Problem while installing the framework

Hmmmm

I originally installed ruby 1.8.6 from source.

I had a second look at the documentation, which said to remove the comment
mark before modules needing to be linked.

The file <Ruby install dir>/ext/Setup had a line mentioning #openssl. I
removed the suspicious #, ran configure/make/make install, but still have
the same issue.

Any other clue about where to look at ???

It appears the CentOS splits out the ruby-openssl module as a separate
package. Look for an RPM called ruby-openssl or just install ruby from
source.
