CIO/G-6 welcomes new Cybersecurity Director

The Army has announced Nancy Kreidler as the new Director, Cybersecurity and
Information Assurance Directorate, Office of the Chief Information Officer/G-6,
beginning March 3, 2019.

Kreidler has more than three decades of experience supporting Army networks,
information assurance and cybersecurity, most recently with the Army Program
Executive Office Command, Control, Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T) where she
served as the Chief Information Officer / Cybersecurity since 2016. She also
served as the Information Assurance Program Manager and the Cybersecurity
Program Manager during her 17-year tenure with PEO C3T and is a subject matter
expert in the cybersecurity and risk management domains.

best that our civilian workforce has to offer," said Lt. Gen. Bruce T. Crawford,
Army CIO/G-6. "Her new responsibilities as the Cybersecurity Director places her
squarely in the middle of one of the Defense Department's and the Army's top
strategic priorities. We look forward to having her join the CIO/G6 team as we
partner with key stakeholders to deliver the network in an era of great power
competition."

As the Cybersecurity Director, Kreidler will serve as the principal advisor to
the CIO/G-6 and other senior Army leaders on the integration of all aspects of
information technology and cybersecurity strategy within the Army. She will
provide direction and guidance for cybersecurity architecture, policy, and
resourcing for the Army, serve as the Army Senior Information Security Officer,
and maintain a secure information environment resistant to known and emerging
cyber threats.

Kreidler holds a master's degree in software engineering and a bachelor's degree
in computer science. She is an Army Acquisition Corps member with a Level III
certification in systems planning, research, development and engineering and
holds a GIAC Security Leadership Certification (GSLC). She also has an Executive
Certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University and is a Certified
Gallup Strengthsfinder coach. Her awards include the Department of the Army Team
C4ISR Leadership Award and the Army Signal Corps Association Bronze Order of
Mercury.
