The new addition to CitectSCADA allows operational and management personnel to monitor their factories, plants and mining sites from any location, enhancing the value of a SCADA network, says Citect. The solution works on a web-based client, allowing remote factory and plant technicians to view data saved on their SCADA network via Windows Internet Explorer. Data accessed remotely is not saved on the mobile PDA or computer but remains on the central server, meaning security won’t be compromised if the device is lost. The mobile aspect of CitectSCADA is fully maintenance-free, and also for all clients to be managed from a central location, reducing the operational overheads associated with control system maintenance, according to Citect.
