Police said yesterday they have uncovered a case of corporate espionage
involving two of the country’s top private hospitals.

A 34-year-old woman has been arrested after the electronic crimes squad
in mid-July caught her sending e-mails of company files to her own
personal e-mail address. She had submitted her resignation to the
company a few days earlier.

The e-mails contained information on hospital clients and financial
reports from the accounting department.

Police also found two hard disks full of similar files at her home.

A further investigation by authorities revealed that she has been an
employee of a rival hospital, to which she allegedly passed on all the
sensitive information.
