   Google, Yahoo, and other Web companies that rely on the fancy
   Web 2.0 features enabled by JavaScript will most likely continue
   to respond quickly to security vulnerabilities  ...

Has anyone thought to recommend turning such crap OFF in the name of 
simplicity/security, and putting pressure on said organizations to make 
sure their stuff works in a simpler HTML-based context too?  Or has it 
just become totally hopeless to ask for this level of safety practice?
