Prague, 18 March: Hackers attacked and distorted the official Internet
pages of the Administration of Czech Centres, an independent
organization run by the Foreign Ministry, on Saturday [17 March].

On the web site's front page, the address www.czech.cz, which is to
present the Czech Republic abroad, there is now black space with a
photo of two black boys and a text, signed by "Hackweiser" hackers'
group, which announces to Czechs that they have a new government. One
of the boys in the photo is presented as a new governor of the
country.

No other pages of the server have been attacked.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Ales Pospisil, who is responsible for the
Internet presentation of the ministry, told CTK that the web site in
question ranked among the most valuable in the Czech Republic.

"I firmly believe that the Czech centres organization will cope with
the hackers' attack as quickly as possible," Pospisil said.

He said that he would convene a meeting of experts on Monday in order
to ensure safety of the Internet page of the Foreign Ministry and the
organizations it subsidizes. He said he did not yet know whether the
Czech centres would turn to the police in connection with the
incident.
