Ahnlab.com, an anti-virus software maker, said yesterday that it has
won a contract worth 100 million won to implement online security
education for Malaysian police officers.

In a signing ceremony in Kuala Lumpur, the company's overseas
marketing chief Hwang Hyo-hyun and Malaysian police director Dato
Yusof announced the deal, Ahnlab.com said.

The 10-week education program is part of the Malaysian national police
force's plan to fight cyber-crimes. They hope to build skills and to
increase facility investments needed to protect computer networks.

The company said that the curriculum has classes across four
categories: building a system of information security, understanding
online security technologies, the use of cracking tools and an actual
practice session in fighting cyber terrorism. In addition, Ahnlab will
provide Malaysian police with improved cracking-protection
technologies this autumn.

``Malaysia is at the helm of rapid growth in the
information-technology industry, but online security is still in the
canvassing stage,'' Hwang said, adding that the deal would offer an
opportunity to pre-empt the Malaysian information security software
market.

The company posted 7 billion won in revenues over the first three
months this year, up 180 percent from the 2.5 billion won a year
earlier. Second- quarter results are not audited yet, the company
official said.
