Draft security standard for signature devices

The European Electronic Signature Standardization Initiative (EESSI)
framework, CEN/ISSS has established an electronic signature
workshop (E-Sign):

In development is a CEN Workshop Agreement (CWA) on secure
signature-creation devices (SSCDs) that fulfills the requirements of
Annex III of the DIRECTIVE 1999/93/EC OF THE EUROPEAN
PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of December 13 1999 on
a Community Framework for electronic signatures (EU Electronic
Signature Directive).

The approach has been to develop a compact CWA, supplemented
by the Secure Signature-Creation Device Protection Profile
(SSCD-PP) as its core content. The SSCD-PP represents a protection
profile conformant to ISO 15408 (a.k.a. the Common Criteria 2.1).
The resulting CWA is available as a draft version solicited for public
comments:

Within the next two weeks, several other draft standards related to
electronic signatures are scheduled for release for public comments.
