Forwarded by: German Domnguez <german.dominguez () dreitech com mx> Hello this is my first post and reply to the ISN mailing list, so I didn't know exactly where to send the post but anyway, I hope my comment would be rich and propossitive enough to be published on the list. As you may realize I'm mexican, I live in Mexico, and by this time Politics is becoming a daily topic in Mexico, since as mentioned, Federal elections will be taken place next July 2nd. The FOBAPROA is taking place as a political flag and theme by some mexican parties, since is supposed there are highly known and recognized politicians there. For the record, FOBAPROA stands for (Fondo Bancario de Proteccion al Ahorro) Savings Protection Banking Fund in English, where is supposed the government bought many banks passives because is supposed OUR money was in danger of being lost inside the exhuberant unpaid and non-payable credits. Inside that credits there are "supposedly" as always some fraudulent credits. OK, so, these credits were encrypted inside a M. McKey's auditing results CD-ROM, in a supposed program, hell knows. Congress member Padierna is leading a "hackers" team to decrypt these lists off the CD-ROM. So far, there's no information about the progress and the way they're decrypting these lists. Is supposed they have taken "computer geniuses" to crack the passwords, as a matter of fact, I'm not questioning or attacking the knowledge or experience of these hackers or computer genuises in cracking passwords. It's supposed they are computer scientist from the Mexican University (UNAM). I found it hilarious when they present these advances, since the passwords are almost 12 characters long with mixed numbers and letter in the passwords. They have no more than 2 weeks trying to get a crypted password based on the mixed encryption of all the 5 passwords and the have found another missing key (can somebody explain me how they did so?). There're still some rumors on the street saying the "FOBAPROA" CD-ROM they're decrypting doesn't contain any crypted data. Jejeje. Could it be a music CD-ROM? What pushes me to write this reply is the stupid and obtuse point of view they're presenting to a society, making us feel ingnorant or as obtuse are they're. I don't think they're taking it from a serious point of view, for the information they present to the public opinion it seems like they're just playing around "guessing" rather than cracking or hacking a seriuos shit. Anyway, this comments are just my personnal point of view and my company doesn't support any of these comments. I'm just trying to give another point of view above and out of any political environment.
