protests attempted to create discussions of the high cost of tuition and corporatization of education.

The author of this is the 9th highest paid president of 220 public universities. He demanded 50% increase over the 
previous president.

And depending on where this university is on the curve this cost each  one of those students from $300 to $6000 in 
tuition

And when Presidential salaries go up, all administrative salaries go up, but faculty salaries do not. 

He is not sympathetic to their cause. 

He is part of the problem of higher tuition. 

And normally he can ignore them. He wants them to sit silently and absorb debt, when they object in the rare moment 
that he is accessible to students he calls it "silencing".

The thing about fascists is they silence the powerless.
