JAPAN ACKNOWLEDGES CYBERATTACKS MIGHT JUScTgIFY MILITARY RESPONSE
In response to questioning at a Cabinet meeting, LDP Member Kenzo Fujisei acknowledged that cyberattack on Japan might 
justify a cyber or military response, but added that the appropriate response needed to be decided on a case-by-case 
basis.  US partners with Japan’s SDF will be encouraged to see Japan taking a more proactive position on dealing with 
cyberattacks.  With cyber becoming one of the most prominent areas of conflict with North Korea and China, the US will 
be encouraged to see Japan willing to push back against cyber incursions on its sovereignty.
