Subject: AT&T Micro Cell problem

HI Dave,

I hope an IP reader might have some suggestions for a cure for my AT&T MircoCell problem. At my Vermont location, I
get, at best, one bar of signal from a tower 15 miles away in St. Johnsbury on my new AT&T Captivate. A MicroCell seems
like the perfect solution. The four of us on AT&T would really like it if our iPhones and Captivate actually worked
here. The iPhones get either zero bars or the same one bar I get occasionally. In the summer, one bar is as good as it
gets at my location.

I suspect that the problem is that I am attempting to register the device for the first time at a location that is NOT
my primary billing address. As the billing address is 180 miles away in Massachussets, it would be really nice not
have to make a 360 mile drive just to register a device I purchased at the Montpelier AT&T Store. By the way, the
staff at the store has been terrific.

Here is the problem: my AT&T MicroCell will not register at my rural location in Northern Vermont. Note my mailing
address in VT is NOT my 911 address: There is no USPS service at my 911 address. The upside is I get a no cost P.O.
Box.

A few details.

The device powers up, locks into the broadband from Charter, and locks onto the GPS signal. But then will not register.

AT&T tech support, to their credit, has called my VT home number three times. But I am often away. For some reason,
they will not call my cell phone when I am not at home. Of course they do not leave a call back number - other than
the general support number. And, I regret, the tech support people have, in at least once instance, given me totally
incorrect information -- you do NOT have to lock onto a cell tower signal for the MicroCell to register.

A resolution to this non registration problem would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Jock
