Subject: Net-Neutraltini

Dave:

Attendees at the "State of the Net" conference, held by an outfit called the "Congressional Internet Caucus," are quaffing a drink called a "Net-Neutraltini," the recipe for which is posted at

http://thehill.com/blogs/hillicon-valley/technology/78219-net-neutralitini-anyone-cocktail-makes-debut-today

It seems to me, though, that if it were really a "Net-Neutraltini," nobody -- not even its fans -- could agree on what was in it. And no one's recipe could specify a specific brand of gin, vodka, or liqueur, as does the one on the site; that would be discrimination! In fact, the Federal Cocktail Commission would dictate that anyone consuming the drink be able to request "any ingredient" of his or her choosing, subject to "reasonable nightspot management."

It's enough to drive you to drink. ;-)
