I think we have similar views, then. I don't trust any of these organizations to represent my individual interests, or the interests of broad sets of people.

Not so Dave, I *want* to believe in laws :).  I do not have a lot of
faith that our current society is as just as we would like it to be -
we are too good at manipulating the process. I believe that a lot of
what is produced in think-tanks is designed to further and promote a
specific world-view. If this is not the same as promoting the
well-being or power distribution of a specific subset of society then
the line is at least very, very, fine.
