An observation about Apples claims on jamming

This comment especially the last paragraph is very significant. If in  
fact the iPhone is subject to behaving in a bad way given it is  
penetrated, then one can guarantee there will be penetrated and it  
will behave in a bad way. Given that the FCC should immediately start  
to understand exactly what the implications of that are.

I seriously doubt that the problem is as dire as Apple wants people to  
believe but then again maybe I should believe them.

That would be an interesting situation where Apple shoots itself not  
only in the foot but maybe the hot while trying to protect their  
business model.

I am reminded of the 1984 MFJ era. The FCC was going to allow us mere
mortals to {gasp} connect Foreign Equipment to Ma's phone lines.

They were going to require "type acceptance" for such, but the problem
was; there were already many/thousands of unapproved phones on the
market. The FCC proposed "grandfathering" those existing phones as of
some date.

Ma fought hard, telling how how perilous such would be to the
Integrity of the Network. Finally the FCC said "You're right...
no grandfathering.... and by the way, that includes YOUR phones...."

Ma immediately did an about-face.

If the current iPhones are oh so vulnerable to being exploited as tools
of Satan; maybe the current FCC should have every one recalled and
updated to be safer.
