One small but important point: the anti-circumvention rules of the DMCA
(making illegal the circumvention of copy protection, or trafficking in ways
to do that) are *not* copyright rules, nor is the act of circumvention
necessarily an infringement of a copyright. It may *also* be an infringement or lead to one, depending on what is used to defeat the copy protection and
what's done with the unprotected work, but that is a separate claim.
