Whatever the facts are about domaining, none of the rest of the  
economy is dependent on the fortunes of the domainers.  It has been  
suggested that ICANN benefits financially from the speculation in  
domains because its revenue is related to the number of  
registrations.  A close look at the numbers would show the effect is  
marginal, at best.  (And even if the effect were significant, it would  
be dealt with reasonably.)
