http://infolution.com.au/?p=28The short term impact of such an environment is (personally) interesting, but an issue of interest to many on this list (IMHO) are the ramifications that meta-convergence creates for emerging technology product/service providers.
As consumer-facing brands start to 'bypass' media companies, spiking and accelerating audience fragmentation, it will almost certainly force other brands/companies to follow suit. The recent launch of Apple's iPhone is a classic example of mass-media driven consumer demand - would it have been possible to achieve this level of consumer interest/demand in a meta-converged media world?
