The info on that website may misrepresent Palm; Palm has had 320x320
screens for nearly 2 years now (650, 700p, 680), and does NOT have to
run Windows Mobile (notably, Windows Mobile phones, e.g., 700w, 750,
have poorer screen resolution than PalmOS versions).

And a Palm has a usable keyboard - ask anyone who had a Graffiti-based
one and you'll find out why a tactile keyboard is needed on a phone
(e.g., unless the iPhone also levitates and its screen morphs with
button depressessions, one-handed dialing will require feats of blind
prestidigitation).

I have a Palm 650 and a new iPod video with 80GB. It takes 20GB for my
music collection (not that large), and each video is 1-1.5GB. The new
phone wouldn't hold a small fraction of my music together with a
*single* video.

I wouldn't swap the pair for this integrated gizmo even for free.

Two swings and two misses, IMO.

FWIW, iPhone was a product of InfoGear in 1999 (acquired by Cisco)

and isalso the name of a current voice-over-IP service iphone.com -
interesting copyright lawsuits are sure to follow.

Dave,

This is a comparison of Apple's new entry against other smart phones in
the market:

I think IP readers might be interested in this.
