Dave, I think this refers to:

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0609/14/ldt.01.html

Dobbs's transcripts seem all to be on line. The problem is that this
wasn't Pace, the actual chair of JCS, but a retired general named
Grange, whom Dobbs (not my fave) asked to imagine himself in the role
of chair of JCS.

for ip

On September 13, I heard part of Lou Dobbs' interview with Peter
Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. I tried to get a
copy
from CNN, to no avail. Indeed, I got no response! On October 18,
2006, I filed two FOIA requests with the Dept. of
Defense--
one for the transcript and a second for "...all documents applying or
relating to Lou Dobbs' interview of Peter Pace,
Chairman of the JCS,
...including its publication or the terms and conditions of such
interview." I finally got a reply on January 8, 2007,
that "no records
responsive to either request were found." Sure. Now, I know that I
can't trust the results of any FOIA request. These
people are
above the law! They are in the "reality making" business, rather
than "defense" or 'governance."

BTW, Pace adamantly insisted that we must get out of Iraq,
immediately, or our military and economy will collapse. He
said
that we do not have the money, equipment, nor manpower to stay much
longer without very dire consequences on all fronts.
Dobbs showed him a page from some military manual discussing the
French experience getting
bogged down in Spain and exhausting its military, emptying its
treasury, and losing its
empire. Pace said there were differences with our situation, but that
we were in danger of the same result.
