Why look only at criminal networks accessing call center data? Foreign and US intelligence agencies are missing an obvious bet if they haven't already bought a controlling interest in outsourced call center datamining opportunities. US intel agencies, for example, own or control lots of companies (called assets) around the world. Perhaps some form of this hypothetical program is what the offshore wiretap and datamining bill is really trying to protect? After Iran-Contra, it's clear that intelligence agencies owning and controlling foreign corporations that live outside US boundaries is a standard practice, viewed as a "good thing" by Ollie North and his kin, despite the revulsion of most Americans.

I'm sure companies who outsource rarely have the tools to see if intelligence agencies are mining their data, and probably wouldn't be liable if that was happening, anyway. So why would they look?

But inquiring minds still wonder...

The Data Theft Scandal
http://www.channel4.com/news/microsites/D/dispatches2006/data_theft/ index.html
In a 12-month undercover investigation, Turton infiltrates criminal
networks which trade British consumers' bank and other confidential
information for huge profits in India, the world's new call centre
capital.
