why are airport rules ike they are

I always like to conjecture why things are done as they are. The  
banning of liguids etc bought in the secure areas of aiirpoert plus  
the early report that one of the UK people was an airport employee  
with access to all the airport suggests that the authorities do not  
believe that the secure area is secure (as I have never thought), How  
they fix that will be fun to watch.
