Dudes and Dudettes

I just got a call from Shawn from his Satellite phone from Bourbon Street, N.O.

He's in the only open bar in town @ the end of the block. Bartender has the meanest dog that he'd ever seen. Shawn gave her a $50 tip upon arrival. N.O. didn't get inundated by water but he tried to paint a picture of what he was seeing. Said Iraq has nothing on this scene. Worse than a 3rd world country. Hard to describe. Chaos, National Guard with brand new guns, no scratches, young recruits with no experienceŠ Today he photographed a pile of bricks covering a body with a eulogy written on a piece of cardboard.
Impossible to believe it's New Orleans
Says his press passes will get him anywhere, even if he want to swim there.

From his vantage point outside the bar:
An aircraft carrier in the Mississippi River
20 plus helicopters in the air
The lowest of the low life's walking the streets (at night). Said he wasn't leaving the bar, going to sleep, stay, drink there.
Cops from every other city and state walking the streets
National Guard delivering ice to the bar he's in, no mixer, just booze
Bodies in the street, violent death, not a drowningŠ blood splattered from a kill He's drinking with some guys that have broken in and ripped off the pharmacies in town. He let Shawn photograph the loot from the wrists down, no tattoos allowed in the photos.

He asked me to pass it on... Film @ 11:00
Pass it on the rest of the PFers
