Looking for advise on TV feeds (cable or satellite)

I have happily used Voom for months now and will miss the HD channels. Prior
to that I was a compcast cable subscriber.

So, when I loose the Voom feed, I would like the best quality and quantity
HD broadcasts as well as the potential for a  tivo like system preferable
with HD capabilities.

Advise requested and experiences
