That should read "some domains have become valuable business assests". This is the same sort of conflation as "the primary Internet protocol is http". Five calendar days? Consider Thanksgiving weekend. That's four days right there. Then there is the xmas/new year break. Many people have a week or more off at that time (especially folks in academia). Default yes? This is the same as automatic "opt out" policies. Dress them up and spin however, they just are not in the interest of the individual on the receiving end.
