Let me first say I'm a Democrat.

I don't think this decision matters a whole lot. Even big movies don't  
get
advertised a full month after their launch. And if the opening is as  
big as
people think, Moore will be able to market the DVD through an e-mail  
list on
his own site, and those sites which link to it. (According to  
Blogstreet,
Moore's site is among the 100 most-linked to blog sites.) The movie is  
very
likely to have an even bigger impact on the election with this decision  
than
it would have otherwise.

I can't speak to the impact on other film advertising.

Of course, to get around all this Moore could, if he wished, simply  
become a
broadcaster....as the NRA has
