From: Shannon McElyea <shannon () swisscreek com> Dear Dave,I've also found that if I want to listen to something on NPR that I can use RealAudio only. I don't want to use it either, because it hijacks my applications. And below, the concern of spyware.
What can be done? Thank you... sm -----Original Message----- From: Stan Hi Shannon,I would like to listen to Air America Radio but they only use Real Audio, and as I was telling you, the RealOne player is spyware. I refuse to install this player because of their spying practices. A quick search on Google turned up thousands of hits. Here is just one of them I picked at random:
http://pages.prodigy.net/markrm/spyware.htmlApparently, there is a non-spyware version that Real provides for the BBC, but I haven't tried it so
don't know if it is spyware free for sure. Here is a link that talks about it: http://www.michaelbraly.com/archives/000180.htmlI tried to voice my concerns to Air America Radio, but was unable to find email contact info or a feedback form on their website. Just snail mail. This is ridiculous, especially for a "current affairs" type of network where feedback needs to be received in a timely manner. If they don't fix obvious short comings like this, I wonder what else behind the scenes has also been neglected. If their listeners can't get in touch with them in a timely manner, I fear they will tune out and Air America Radio
will go down the tubes.-Stan
