Fear not, map geeks!  "Selective Availability", which is what the government
calls "intentional degradation of GPS" for military purposes, ended in May
2000 and will not be reactivated at this time, according to the folks at the
USCG, who are responsible for civilian GPS. I just talked to the information
folks there and they said if anything changes they'll post it on their web
site immediately.
