Dave, as the battle for digital rights management heats up, an interesting side question is who will control it, a computer company, Microsoft, or consumer electronics companies, Sony and Philips? The question will be decided in a patent lawsuit, InterTrust v Microsoft, which reached a key milestone, the Markman hearing, last week.
