Subject: Speakeasy Member Call to Action: FCC Vote 2/20/03

Dear Speakeasy Members,

As a Speakeasy customer, we think you will find this message
regarding imminent Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
policy-making very important. Timing is key, please read and, if
you choose, take the action below immediately.

On Thursday, February 20th, 2003, the FCC will hold a critical
vote on four major issues, three of which directly affect the
regulations that currently require Incumbent Local Exchange
Carriers (ILECs, or phone companies) share their essential
facilities with their competitors.

NOTE!: We believe a decision that would negatively effect our
business and your service is highly unlikely. Nevertheless, it's
important that our customers make their views known to help
head-off future regulatory battles.

Specifically, sending this message lets policy-makers know how
individual people feel. In our opinion, it is highly appropriate
for you to be a big influence on the decisions that get made in
government telecommunications policy. It also helps avoid
independent service providers having to fight this issue
continually so we can focus our efforts on better serving you!

We strongly urge you to read about these proposed changes and
express your point of view to the FCC. Our friends at the Texas
ISP Association (TISPA) have compiled the following information,
including easy-to-use communication forms for you to respond to
each of the proposed measures:

Please help send a clear message to the FCC *today*. Thank you
for your business and for your support in this important matter.
