Is it silly to point out that positive baggage and passenger matching does NOT apply to connections so even a non suicide oriented bomber can check his/her bags through and get off at a connecting point and the luggage will continue on. Unless the bags have been properly scanner/inspected there is a potential problem. Note inspection/scan is not mandatory at this time as I read it.

Despite scattered delays involving individual airlines, city aviation officials this
afternoon declared Chicago's first day of operations under heightened airport
security regulations a success.

?We feel very pleased with the overall system flow. Today was a good benchmark
because Fridays are traditionally busy, and it?s a holiday weekend,? said Monique
Bond, a spokeswoman for the city?s Department of Aviation.
