Washington May Be Missing the Real Culprit: Saddam
By
Michael Fjetland

Washington's increasing focus on Usama bin Laden may be missing the real
'target.' While Ithink bin Laden was involved, this complex, coordinated
mission is beyond his capabilities acting alone. We may be falling for
another Saddam trick if we focus only on bin Laden. Here's why.

SADDAM HUSSAIN has the global agent network; trained jet pilots and revenge
motivation to do something like this. He's also smart enough, in his evil
way, to put up a scapegoat like bin Laden --someone we haven't been able to
catch in 10 years--to keep the retaliation focus offhimself.

Look at the evidence. In just hours after the attack, our agents discovered
some of the terrorists had connections to bin Laden. The terrorists, to make
identification simple, used their real names. Arabic flight manuals were
left
in cars they knew would be found and other materials were left in expensive
rooms at the Westin Hotel in Boston—not some sleazy hotel were it might be
tossed out with the trash. By deliberating not hiding this evidence and
using
these players like drug “mules” with easily determined connections to
bin
Laden, they created a perfect diversion from the real kingpin behind the
attacks—Saddam Hussein--so he can continue them with his network of agents
and ongoing source of oil money intact.

There is evidence that the 1993 World Trade bombing had Saddam's
fingerprints. The New York FBI felt that he was involved. That bombing was
two years after Saddam's humiliation in desert storm. It didn't work so a
different strategy was needed. Then his worst enemies son became President.

Saddam's 'modus operandi' has been to challenge each new President. Former
Pres. Bush was challenged by the invasion of Kuwait; Clinton was likewise
challenged by Saddam'sbreach of the no fly zone and attacks on his own
people. Now it is Pres. George W Bush's turn to facethe Saddam challenge,
but with a twist.

Consider this. If the White House were a target it would be Saddam's attempt
not only to challenge Pres. Bush -- but also to kill the son of the man who
humiliated Saddam in the Gulf War. The first Bush ruined his empire a year
short of hisacquiring a nuclear warhead.

Despite the decade old sanctions, Saddam is still a billionaire and revenge
burns for a thousand years in the Middle East. He will be constantly seeking
revenge against the Great Satan (the U.S.) the rest of his life. When
Saddam
dies, his demented sons will take over and will be equally ruthless and
immoral. One son Odi, has a reputation for picking up women off the streets
of Baghdad, raping them and having them killed. This is what we are facing.

So bin Laden is a perfect decoy for Saddam. bin Laden is holed up in one of
the most remote countries that is practically impossible to infiltrate with
agents--Afghanistan is a country where a man will only trust his brother
with
a message and strangers quickly disappear. Bin Laden knows that we
haven’t
been able totouch him in 10 years so being a scapegoat poses little risk.
It’s a perfect match between these evil twins.

Saddam is evil, but not stupid. He is smart enough to know that our focus on
bin Laden will keep Saddam--a much easier target--off our radar lock. He
knows that any strikes in Afghanistan will only create thousands more
extremist militants ready to become martyrs willing to give up their lives
blowing up our people and monuments. Like Kamikaze’s, they believe that
they
will immediately go to heaven when they die in these attacks.

Saddam has learned his lesson—he knows that he cannot defeat the U.S. by
traditional military power. So terrorism provides the perfect alternative
for
him to continue waging his unholy ‘holy war’ against the UnitedStates
but
without risking his neck while he runs Iraq and continues to sell oil to
finance more terrorism. Terrorsim is deadly, anonymous and satisfies his
desire for revenge.

Unlike bin Laden, Saddam is in a clearly visible country andso bin Laden
is a
perfect decoy for Saddam. Bin Laden, a former Saudi, is a stateless person
hiding in a country impossible to penetrate and controlled by people we love
to hate, the Taliban—people who forbid women the right to workor get and
education, and who are prosecuting Christians for teaching their religion.
Saddam has applauded the bombing but he is no longer foolish enough to risk
military retaliation to openly take credit directly -- so bin Laden isa
perfect “front man” for him to take the heat they knew this horrible
attack
would generate.

Bottom line: Our leadership's current obsession with bin Laden may be once
again playing into Saddam's devious gamesmanship.
