I co-edited (with Miguel Centeno) a special issue of the American Behavioral Scientist on Mapping Globalization that came out this summer. In addition to discussing the significance and consequences of globalization, we offer a different road map for _measuring_ it. The articles in the special issue are based on an empirical investigation of globalization. With all the theoretical discussions of the topic, we thought it important to see what actual data show us about the phenomenon. A short version of our Intro chapter was reprinted in the Australian Online Opinion which did a special feature on globalization last month, the piece is available here: http://www.onlineopinion.com.au/2001/sep01/Hargittai.htm Thanks, as always, for the great IP feed.
