It sure troubles me when the government suddenly finds it necessary to start chipping away at civil liberties under the guise of protecting us (Remember: "We're from the government, and we're here to help you." One must wonder why some of the basic principles that have served us so well for more than 200 years suddenly have become a problem for this administration. Is there a hidden agenda here? Perhaps this administration needs to focus on doing a better job of investigating this criminal act and those behind it (including a long, hard look at what they missed earlier or failed to act upon) and bringing the perpetrators to justice. Instead, it seems, it would rather restructure it into an "act of war" and send in missiles and bombs that ultimately will kill or injure many who had nothing at all to do with this horrible act in order to satiate a desire to "do something" and to "get them." This smacks of racial profiling taken to its ultimate conclusion, and it's being done in our name. And we wonder why some countries hate the US.
