shortage

Thomas Malthus is a name that may be familiar to students of demography. He was a 19th century British political economist who, surrounded by the horrors of the Industrial Revolution, concluded that humanity was doomed by the specter of overpopulation. Malthus saw famine and poverty as the inevitable consequences of economic and population growth. History, of course, has shown otherwise.
