Being corporate they can't speak openly but here are a few anonymous comments from one of them, maybe with something official to follow. Some real simple problems include -- The 1.1 spec was released March 1, not the end of March. The purpose of unplug-fests is to find and fix interoperability problems, usually right there, right now. The first Bluetooth devices were always expected to be simple cable replacement for devices which would be paired one time and remain paired for their lifetime. (headphone and cell phone, cell phone and hands-free car kit, mouse and computer, keyboad and computer. "They say that what they have done is inevitable given the sluggish pace, caused by repeated episodes of confusion and bickering, that has been an unfortunate characteristic of the official standardization process." The above sounds like sour grapes for them not getting what they wanted during the official standardization process. I am too tired right now to even begin to untangle the logic in the section on qualification and when did Toshiba start making cell phones?
