Cellphone Jammers on the Rise Even though it's illegal to use such products in the United States, U.S. companies are building and selling a device to block cellphone calls for other parts of the world. Minn.-based Image Sensing Systems recently sold its gear to King Abdullah of Jordan, who had complained of cellphones ringing in mosques during prayer time. ISS has sold 5,000 blocking units internationally within the last month or so. N.C.-based BlueLinx is developing a product of its own, and two movie-theater chains already have put in orders. Israel's NetLine Communications Technologies is making big money in the United States, despite the ban, with its C-Guard Cellular FireWall mobile-phone jamming equipment. If anyone is caught using it, however, a $11,000 fine will be imposed by the FCC. Reported by ZDNet.News.
