George Orwell figured out what Josef Goebbels did in Nazi Germany and wrote
about its logical extension in "1984".  The Ministry of Truth was
responsible for propaganda, etc.  Now that we're living in the future, the
practice is more mundane and we're all familiar with it: if you say a lie
often enough and loudly enough, it becomes the truth.  And this is not just
in DC; NY, Redmond, the Valley ("that's not a bug, it's a feature!"), Middle
America, ...
