Dave Farber asked "How do cell phones stack up when compared to car radio
(especially talk radio or rap), your wife/husband, children fighting in
the rear seat , trying to read a map,
etc etc etc.?"

According to a May 2001 report from the AAA Foundation their study of
crashes involving driver distractions found the following sources of
distraction:

% of Specific
Drivers Distraction
=============================
29.4% Outside person, object, or event
11.4% Adjusting radio/cassette/CD
10.9% Other occupant
 4.3% Moving object in vehicle
 2.9% Other device/object
 2.8% Adjusting vehicle/climate controls
 1.7% Eating and/or drinking
 1.5% Using/dialing cell phone
 0.9% Smoking related
25.6% Other distractions
 8.6% Unknown distraction
