According to a May 2001 report from the AAA Foundation their study of crashes involving driver distractions found the following sources of distraction: % of Specific Drivers Distraction ============================= 29.4% Outside person, object, or event 11.4% Adjusting radio/cassette/CD 10.9% Other occupant 4.3% Moving object in vehicle 2.9% Other device/object 2.8% Adjusting vehicle/climate controls 1.7% Eating and/or drinking 1.5% Using/dialing cell phone 0.9% Smoking related 25.6% Other distractions 8.6% Unknown distraction The full report is available on their website: http://www.aaafoundation.org/projects/index.cfm?button=distraction -David == David E.
