THE ACM (ASSOCIATION OF COMPUTING MACHINERY) ANNOUNCES ITS ROSTER OF NEW 
FELLOWS

New York, Dec. 14, 2000 -- .. ACM, The Association for Computing Machinery, 
the oldest and largest society for computing and technology professionals 
worldwide, recognizes nearly 30 of its members for their achievements in 
computer science and information technology, as well as their contributions 
to further the mission of the ACM.

These new ACM Fellows -- whose names are listed below -- will be inducted 
at the ACM Awards Banquet on Sunday, March 11, 2001, at the Fairmont Hotel 
in San Jose. The new inductees bring the total number of ACM Fellows to 411.

The Role of Fellows
The ACM Fellows serve as distinguished colleagues to whom the ACM and its 
members look toward for guidance and leadership as the world of information 
technology evolves. Their technical contributions and work span all 
horizons in computer science producing solutions that are useful for people 
everywhere.
