The PCG-C2GPS
-------------
At the Japan Comdex, Sony introduced a new model of popular mini-note VAIO
series, PCG-C2GPS which will be released on November 27. The feature of the
PCG-C2GPS is similar to the previous model, PCG-C1XE, which incorporates a
mobile Pentium II 266 MHz, a 64MByte memory (Max.128MByte), and a 8.1GByte
Hard disk. The PCG-C2GPS has no CCD camera (like the C1XE model), but a GPS
(Global Positioning System) receiver comes with the unit instead. The GPS
receiver runs with a USB connection or it works with single AA battery.

A very key feature appears to be the new screen. The PCG-C2GPS uses a
reflection type polysilicon TFT. The reflection type polysilicon TFT enables
the C2GPS to run longer, be thinner (29mm to 26.7mm), and weigh lighter
(1.0kg to 0.96kg). Also, if you get an optional battery which weighs 690g,
the PCG-C2GPS SUPPOSEDLY runs 11 hours!

The PCGA-CDRW51
---------------
Another wonderful development in the VAIO world is that Sony also debuted a
new CDRW drive at Comdex Japan. It looks just like the US CD-ROM drive, but
this one is CDRW. Availability is for December.
