The though of 20,000 \ people trained in the y2k problem mucking arround in
sensitive code scares me more that the 2k problem

I think you mean the Daily Telegraph (http://www.telegraph.co.uk), not the 
UK Telegraph.


Today's Independent reports that Blair is upping the budget for Y2K from 
#1 million to #17 million, and planning to train 20,000 people (by like 
next March) to help companies fix the bug.
