**************************************************************************** THE IEEE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NETWORKS (ICON'99) September 28 - October 1, 1999, Brisbane, Australia Organised by The University of Queensland Sponsored by Computer Chapter, IEEE Singapore Section Co-sponsored by Computer Chapter, IEEE Queensland Section Conference Home Page: http://www.csee.uq.edu.au/~icon99 ***************************************************************************** The IEEE International Conference on Networks (ICON'99) is the previous IEEE Singapore International Conference on Networks (SICON) which from 1999 will be held in various places of the Australasian region. The first ICON conference will be held in Brisbane, Australia, and is organised by The University of Queensland and sponsored by the IEEE Computer Chapter in Singapore and co-sponsored by the IEEE Queensland Section. Two days of tutorials and two days of technical presentations are planned for the conference. The conference will also include invited speakers, exhibitions and poster presentations. ICON'99 will provide a forum to discuss the recent advances in computer networks and communications. Contributions describing original research, surveys and applications including but not restricted to the following areas are solicited: - high speed networks, ATM, optical - routing, flow and congestion networks and multimedia networking controls - wireless and mobile networks - internetworking - network, traffic modeling and - network signaling and connection performance analysis management - network security and privacy - network management - resource sharing and quality of service - network architecture and protocols - testbeds and measurements - satellite networks - open signaling and active networks - advanced network applications Submissions of original, unpublished papers on various aspects of mobility in computer networks are particularly encouraged. All submitted papers will be internationally reviewed and accepted papers will be published. Information on ICON'99 is also available at: http://www.csee.uq.edu.au/~icon99. ABOUT CONFERENCE LOCATION Brisbane is a subtropical city positioned between the major tourist destinations of the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. This part of Australia is renowned for its outstanding beauty. Brisbane also provides a good starting point for trips to tropical North Queensland and its coral reef (the Great Barrier Reef). For more information refer to http://www.csee.uq.edu.au/~icon99. PAPER SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS The paper should present original, unpublished research and be no longer than 5000 words. The submission should include a cover page containing the title, author name(s), complete address (telephone, fax, email) for all authors, indication of the corresponding author, and an abstract (100-150 words), followed by keywords and one or more areas of interest from the list above.
