Dear Educator,


I would like to announce the GTE GIFT Program, a $12,000 Grant Opportunity
for MATH and SCIENCE Teachers.


Growth Initiatives For Teachers (GIFT) is a grant program funded by GTE
Corporation for public and private school math and science teachers, grades
7 to 12 (grade 6 only if in a middle or junior high school) in eligible
states. =A0Every year, GTE awards GIFT grants to 60 teams of one math=
 teacher
and one science teacher from the same school who have developed projects
that integrate math and science and use technology in an innovative way.
Each winning team shares a $12,000 grant; $7,000 for a school enrichment
project and $5,000 ($2,500 for each) for =A0professional development
activities.


Applicants must teach in one of the following states: AL, AZ, AR, CA, CO,
CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NH, NM,
NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, WV, WI.


Since 1983, approximately 1,500 outstanding teachers have received GIFT
