NO NO NO!

This is an endlessly-circulating bogon like the Craig Shergold
problem. Don't forward it, and please rescind your letter below.
(Even if they didn't learn and they're doing it -again-, I'm highly
suspicious of any such letter that (a) doesn't have the date of start
and date of end of the promotion, and (b) doesn't have a web page to
check for further info, including whether it's already over. And you
should be, too, of any such letter---you know how these things can
circulate for years...)

I have a couple of letters from H-M and people who know friends there
from last time this went around as to how much of a problem this was
for them, if you're interested, but lack of cutoff dates and ways to
check the message should be clue enough that this should -not- be
forwarded...

The Houghton-Miffin publishing company is giving books to children's
hospitals; the number of books they give depends on how many e-mails
they receive. For every 25 e-mails they receive, they give one book.
All you have to do is send an e-mail to: share () hmco com and write "give
kids books" in the subject line. It only takes a few minutes.
So far they have only received 400 messages, last year they received
    23,000.

    PLEASE pass on the message!
