IP: Senate Encryption Hearings Live on Net WEDNESDAY March

As you already know, Wednesday is a big day for the Internet community.


In addition to the Supreme Court oral arguments on the Communications
Decency Act, the Senate Commerce Committee will hold a hearing on the
Burns/Leahy Promotion of Commerce Online in the Digital Era (Pro-CODE S.377)
bill Wednesday at 2:00 pm Eastern (11:00 am Pacific).


The hearing will be cybercast LIVE at http://www.democracy.net. You can
listen in on the hearing, join an online discussion, submit testimony for
the record and pose questions to the Committee.


democracy.net is a new project of the Center for Democracy and Technology
and the Voters Telecommunications Watch designed to explore ways of
enhancing citizens particpation in the democratic process via the Internet.
