Better check those calendar programs in your robots and avitars. Dave The National Science Foundation issued a warning to grant recipients last week, putting them on notice that the Foundation expects them to take "all steps necessary to mitigate potential problems" resulting from the Year 2000 problem. "Many computer systems may experience operational difficulties because they are unable to handle the change from the year 1999 to the year 2000," said the Foundation's director. "Others may fail because they do not properly consider 2000 a leap year... The National Science Foundation should be notified if an awardee concludes that the Year 2000 will have a significant impact on its ability to carry out an NSF grant."
