Stewart Baker writes that the transfer to the Commerce Dept of export
decisions will benefit exporters because Commerce is more efficient and has
less red tape than the State Dept.

Although one would expect Commerce to handle these matters more
expeditiously than State, the actual experience has not always been thus.

In the spirit of helping Al Gore's reinvention of the government, I'm
interested in putting together a compilation of the issues others have had
in dealing with the export control office.

Anyone who wants to help with this project is welcome to send me a note.
