Thought you'd enjoy this excerpt from my Cyberland column this week:

Unclear on the Concept Department

America Online, the largest online service in the United States, recently
placed notices in various Usenet newsgroups seeking freelance writers to
create content for AOL's service. The ads said AOL preferred "a well-founded
knowledge of America Online and its channels and services," and went on to
say, "because assignments will be sent and received through electronic mail,
an electronic mail address is required."

However, AOL said to send resumes and writing samples via postal mail,
adding, "clips and resumes submitted electronically will not be considered
at this time."
