I have had many requests for the location of the Sumo type restaurant mentioned in my Tokyo Diary ( I have put it on my Web page http://macpond.cis.upenn.edu) Last night we went to a restaurant where Sumo food is served. I have never had so much food. A high amount of raw fish, tempura and a meat, fish stew that is the heart of the meal. We crawled out. The restaurant surrounds a sumo ring (used to be real one) and both japanese and western seating was avaiable. It is several blocks from the Sumo arena. Great place. If your aiming for Tokyo give it a try. So: Date: Fri, 7 Jul 1995 13:38:23 +0900 From: ajp () glocom ac jp (Adam Peake) Restaurant name: Yoshiba, tel: (03) 3623-4480 Located in an area of Tokyo called Ryogoku. JR train to Ryogoku station, Soubu Line. Yoshiba is about 4 blocks (1 k.m.) "north" of the station ("north" means up the Sumida River), past the Sumo stadium. Anyone who want's to go, ask them to contact me and I'll give them an address and instructions. Might be able to put together a gif map and Japanese address (for taxi drivers), if that would help. Hope you and GG are enjoying life back at home. Adam
